Our Mission Statement
Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays promotes the health and well-being of GLBT persons and their families through SUPPORT, to cope with an adverse society; through EDUCATION, to enlighten an ill-informed public; and through ADVOCACY, to end discrimination and to secure fair and equal civil rights. PFLAG provides the opportunity for dialogue about sexual orientation and acts to create a society that is healthy and respectful of human diversity. We Support Family
While we realize some people struggle more than others, we support each other along our journey, towards loving, understanding and accepting our GLBT family members and friends. We Advocate Equal Rights
We advocate equal rights-not special rights-for our GLBT loved ones. We understand that the most productive way to effect change is through public advocacy.

South Carolina WILL BE "So Gay" Saturday - Sept. 20th, 2008 Finlay Park - Columbia, South Carolina We at the SC Pride Movement believe that South Carolina can be a gay-friendly tourist destination as we say that SC will be "So Gay" during our Sept 20th Festival and Parade featuring RuPaul. So we've created our own version to share! Pride Celebration, 12:00 – 6:00 p.m. , Finlay Park, FREE. Come out and celebrate your pride! The celebration will feature RuPaul, as well as other great entertainers and special guests. Enjoy vendors, food, and lots of fun!

Gay BINGO Charlotte, produced by Friends of RAIN, is a wild, fun, outrageous costumes, song, dance, fabulous prizes and totally unconventional bingo games—an unpredictable, exciting night. This annual fundraiser raises money for RAIN (Regional AIDS Interfaith Network). Each BINGO has it’s own theme, set of special games and rules just for Gay BINGO participants!
Since the first event - “Big Hair BINGO” in February 2000, BINGO attendance has grown from the 100 person maximum at the Great Aunt Stella Center to sell out crowds of over 1,500 people at the Grady Cole Center. The volunteer list continues to grow, as does the dedication of numerous BVDs (BINGO Verifying Divas) present for each rowdy event. Sponsorships include generous individuals as well as key Charlotte businesses.
Gay BINGO Charlotte Motto: “A straight line NEVER wins at Gay BINGO, but our straight friends are always welcome!”
